Your app has three places: the Preview (where it's built), the Test site (a private copy that works like the real thing) and Live (what your users see).

Releasing moves a proven version one step up. Each step runs its checks: a production build, a trial run of any database changes against a copy, and quick tests in a real browser. If a check fails, nothing changes and you're told why in plain words.
